  A company called CyberSecretaries used to offer a similar service. Is SpeakWrite associated with CyberSecretaries?

  SpeakWrite is the same company.  We changed our name in 2006.

  How long has SpeakWrite been in business?

  We have been in business since 1997.

  Do you offer your service nationwide?

 Yes, we have clients in all 50 states, and have had for years.

 Does SpeakWrite use voice recognition software to prepare its work?

  No. SpeakWrite does not use voice recognition technology at any stage of its operations.

  Do you use India, China or other ‘offshore’ personnel to do your work?

  No.  All SpeakWrite work is done by transcriptionists located in the US and Canada.

  How do you insure the confidentiality and security of my work sent to you?

We have a detailed and comprehensive security system and process to ensure confidentiality that you can review in full by clicking here.  Since inception, we have never had a security breach or a single instance of any misuse of a client’s information by any SpeakWrite typist or other personnel.

We are a substantial size law firm.  Does SpeakWrite have sufficient personnel to process our work?

SpeakWrite is the largest provider of non-medical transcription in the United States. We have over 50,000 clients nationwide.  For one client alone we processed over 500,000 jobs and delivered them back to the client in an average turnaround time of less than 3 hours per job, even though the work came in 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  We can handle the work for your firm.

What are the costs for using and accessing the SpeakWrite service?

Use of the SpeakWrite service is completely pay-as-you-go.  There are no fixed costs of any kind for using the service or having it available to you 24 hours a day.  You are only charged for work transcribed for you, and then at a per word cost for words transcribed.  No monthly charges, no minimums, no other charges of any kind.  For words transcribed, the cost is:

'Legal' - Work requiring the use of a trained and experienced legal trascriptionist.

'General' - Work not requiring the use of a trained and experienced legal transcriptionist.  

'Group Conversations' - Transcription of recorded conversations, interviews, seminars, conference calls or anything which involves more than one person speaking.

Can I have potential users in my firm do a free test or evaluation of the service without having to sign up and pay for the testing? 

Yes, we have a Free Evaluation Pilot Program which allows you to try the SpeakWrite service in your office, at no cost, to determine its potential value and utility to you and your firm, if you sign up in conjunction with the 2008 ALA Conference.  This free Evaluation Pilot Program: 

·  Allows you to designate up to 10 attorneys or other staff members from your office to participate in the free Pilot.

·  Each Pilot participant is provided with a free SpeakWrite account to use free of charge for a 4 week evaluation period.

·  During this Pilot, each participant is afforded complete and unrestricted access to the SpeakWrite service, with unlimited usage and unlimited access to all SpeakWrite features and tools.

·  SpeakWrite conducts, free of charge, an on-line hosted Webinar Training for each of the Pilot users to help them better understand and use the service.

·  A designated ‘Pilot Manager’ from SpeakWrite works with you and is available throughout the Pilot for any questions, issues, etc 

By use of detailed analyses and reports regarding usage at conclusion of the Pilot program and via interim and final Surveys regarding user satisfaction, usability, etc. SpeakWrite provides you with a final Report and study regarding the potential effect on your firm of use of the SpeakWrite service.
